Content Planning - June 2021 "Days"

Summer is (almost) officially here, and we are so pumped for barbecues, beaches ๐Ÿ–๏ธ, and barefoot days ahead! Summer is always a fun time for content planning as we get to celebrate warmer days and fun that comes with them! To maximize your time on the beach instead of behind the screen social media planning, here are some content ideas as you head into June:

Before jumping in, just a few reminders about these "days":

  1. Don't post on more than a couple of these "days". No one wants to follow an account that's just full of National "Days".

  2. Make sure it ties into your brand! Why does it matter that you're chiming in on this day? Why should someone care? Can you tie your product or service to that day?

  3. Get your hashtags right! Ensure that you've got the one main hashtag and any related hashtags ready to go when you post. This is a great way to expand your reach on social and get discovered by new accounts. I like to post the main hashtag in my copy and then comment with the other 29 (or less) hashtags.

  4. Plan it out! Write down the date on your calendar (especially if you have a content calendar for social!) and go ahead and plan out the photo and copy you're going to post.

Here are a few ideas to spark some inspiration for planning out your content this month:

  • Post a story on June 4th polling your following on their favorite donut shops for National Donut Day. Post the winner at the end of the day ๐Ÿฉ

  • Use June 8th, National Best Friends Day, to celebrate your business besties! Tag them in a feed post or do a story arc celebrating and highlighting your favorite small business. Get your friends to do the same to help grow your following + celebrate one another!

  • Celebrate the first day of summer on June 20th with a fun feed post showing how you like to spend your sunny days. Posts could include a feed post about your favorite summer activities, a story arc of behind the scenes of your after-work routine in the summer, and a reel that highlights a sunny summer Saturday for you and your friends + family! โ˜€๏ธ

  • June 30th is Social Media Day, which means it is a perfect day to post! This is a day where you can tell your followers how social media has impacted you and your business and how they can best use it for their business! Include stories describing where you started on your social media journey, how it has helped you grow your business, and what your favorite platforms are!
