Content Planning - August "Days"

Welcome to the blog! This is, in fact, our very first post my friends. Thank you for stopping by and reading today. If you like what you read below, make sure to sign up for our newsletter which will be rolling out very, very soon so you can be alerted to our new posts and other exciting news.

So let's get to it - if you joined us on Instagram or Facebook Live today, you saw where we discussed what special "days" you could post on for your brand in August (how are we already talking about that month?!). Hence why the random photo below finally makes sense!

PS: When I say "days" I mean things like, National Ice Cream Day, National Best Friends Day, etc.

Before we jump into August though, let's first level set on some grounding strategy for posting on these "days".

  1. Don't post on more than one or two of these "days". No one wants to follow an account that's just full of National "Days".
  2. Make sure it ties into your brand! Why does it matter that you're chiming in on this day? Why should someone care? Can you tie your product or service to that day?
  3. Get your hashtags right! Ensure that you've got the one main hashtag and any related hashtags ready to go when you post. This is a great way to expand your reach on social and get discovered by new accounts. I like to post the main hashtag in my copy and then comment with the other 29 (or less) hashtags. Don't worry, we have a full post on hashtags coming soon!
  4. Plan it out! Write down the date on your calendar (especially if you have a content calendar for social!) and go ahead and plan out the photo and copy you're going to post. See our Ice Cream Day post, that was taken a month in advance!

Alright, now that we're set up.... drumroll please! Here is a full list of "days" you could post on for your business/blog/brand. There were probably 100 more outside of these too, but these are the ones that I found to be the best. I put the eight we talked about on Live today in bold.
